Mariam Azimi

Mariam Azimi M. is a committed community advocate dedicated to supporting women affected by domestic violence and those navigating the challenges of post-divorce grief. She has served as a court advocate with FAITH.org, playing a crucial role in creating safe spaces for these vulnerable populations. After her own divorce in 2011, she founded CircleofSTARhood, a support group for divorced Muslim women.

Her passion continues with Care2Elevate.space, a nonprofit that creates safe spaces for individuals to process post-divorce grief and confront societal stigmas. Mariam believes that to break free from past toxic experiences and avoid rebounding, individuals need the opportunity to grieve in environments that offer care by acknowledging, educating and connecting with one another.

She finds inspiration in Rumi, Gibran, and is fluent in Arabic and Farsi. Mariam holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Certificate in Human Services Administration, as well as certificates in public speaking, grief, depression, and trauma recovery.
