Rabbi Sara Luria

Rabbi Sara Luria has incorporated her deeply held belief that the Jewish community must be an actively supportive place for all Jews through all of their life transitions into ImmerseNYC, the community mikveh project that she founded and runs. Her expansive and inclusive leadership style, strong belief in a God who loves us unconditionally, and experiences as a community organizer, birth doula, and chaplain inspire ImmerseNYC’s transdenominational, spirituallyfocused, relationshipbased, grassrootsenergized mission. Sara graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and received her ordination from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. She is an alumna of both the JOIN for Justice Fellowship in Boston, and the Tisch Fellowship for Visionary Leadership at Hebrew Union College. She lives back in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY with her husband, Isaac, and their kiddos, Caleb, Eva, and Judah.
